It contains links and information to national and state grants that are available for transportation-related restoration projects. Liberty Historic Railway is not affiliated with any of these organizations, and cannot guarantee or influence their funding decisions or disbursements.


NATIONAL FUNDING
 

National Railway Historical Society - Heritage Grants

Tom E. Dailey Foundation - Railroad Heritage Grants

  • Funding: $1,000 to $15,000

  • Availability: quarterly

  • Applications: available year-round, no due date

  • Timeline: grants awarded quarterly

John H. Emery Rail Heritage Trust - Railroad Heritage Grants

Amherst Railway Society - Founder's Award & Heritage Grants

  • Funding: $1,000 to $10,000

  • Availability: annual

  • Applications: available year-round, due between September 1st and October 31st

  • Timeline: grants awarded in late January at Springfield, MA show

Trains Magazine - Preservation Award

  • Funding: $10,000

  • Availability: annual

  • Applications: no formal application, proposal due by October 15th

  • Timeline: awarded in mid-November
